There are numerous evidence based benefits of breathing with awareness and with intent. Various targeted techniques also assist with using the physiological concepts in a way to deliver maximum oxygen to the body and also activate the parasympathetic system to reduce anxiety states.

The initial Functional Medicine assessment also includes a breath assessment to incorporate the personalised breathing strategies in the Functional Medicine Plan.
